Taaxi wrote:I agree that the popping of moons is a pretty dick move that sets the player back quite a bit. I don't want to see this turn into the game that Eterna describes. I just had a bright idea that may be the compromise, assuming it can be coded:

The reason people pop moons is to 1) reveal fleet on phalanx, 2) stop the use of phalanx and jumpgate 3) grief the player.

1 and 2 are pretty legitimate reasons, but 3 just pisses people off and makes them quit. So, instead of moons being DESTROYED, what about making them temporarily disabled for, say 24 hours, after a successful "Destroy" mission. The moon would be unusable by the player while disabled, and the fleets that were headed to/from the moon would be changed to the planet, like they are now when the moon goes byebye..

Cool idea. You can still lose your moon, but without all the loss!

The Moon Disruption mission is born.

and you say i never agree with you lol.

Can you expand a bit more though? Like...would it work the same as it currently does? just disruption vs destruction. Or would there be a new set of rules?

Also say we go with the 24 hour rule, would a person be able to reestablish the moon sooner by... creating DF around said planet or something else?

Good input Taaxi. Post that in game suggestions though. This topic is over the scrapyard.

I'd severely reduce the chances of the attacker losing their fleet to self destruction. It's currently around 43%.. I'd drop it to no more than 10%..

Dude taaxi the system isn't broken... please stop whining about it. And if you are planning on whining about it, don't do it in a completely unrelated topic.

I can't imagine how much you would be bitching about it if I'd popped your moon to kill your fleet... wait you wouldn't have bitched about it, you'd have just berated me for being sooooo stupid.
